Getting started with AI for small business

Getting started with AI for small business
Audience: Business owners & office managersRead time: 7 min

You don't need a data science team to use AI productively. Most small businesses begin with three approved tools, clear usage rules, and one high-impact use case.

Week 1: Choose tools

Select 1–2 approved platforms (e.g. ChatGPT Team, Microsoft Copilot). ChainIQ configures access, billing, and usage policies.

Week 2: Pick one use case

Email drafts, meeting summaries, or internal Q&A from your SOP docs — pick the task that consumes the most repetitive hours.

Week 3: Train & support

Run a 60-minute team session. ChainIQ provides cheat sheets and a support channel for questions during rollout.

Questions to answer before you start

Who can use AI?Define roles — not every staff member needs the same access level.
What data is off-limits?Customer PII, payroll, and unreleased financials should stay out of public models.
Who approves output?Assign owners for customer emails, proposals, and external documents.
How will you measure success?Hours saved, response times, or ticket volume — pick one metric.

What ChainIQ sets up for you

  • Starter prompt library for your industry
